Nel caso siate in panico per la perdita di dati dal vostro hard disk, vi consiglio due programmi che potrebbero fare al caso vostro (questi sono per sistemi Unix, tra poco farò un altro articolo per sistemi Windows):

  • Sleuth Kit [Open Source; for FAT, NTFS, UFS 1, UFS 2, EXT2FS, EXT3FS, and ISO 9660 file systems; testato su: Linux, Mac OS X, Open & FreeBSD, Solaris, Cygwin]
  • The Coroner’s Toolkit ["[...] primarily designed for Unix systems, but it can some small amount of data collection & analysis from non-Unix disks/media”, testato su: Solaris 2.4, 2.5.1, 2.6, 7.0, 8, FreeBSD 2.2.1, 3.4, 4.4, RedHat 5.2, 6.1, 7.3, BSD/OS 2.1, 4.1, OpenBSD 2.5, 3.0, 3.1, SunOS 4.1.3_U1, 4.1.4]
